Day 1 of Ravensbourne Foundation! - Making Memory Time Capsules!

So this was a good start to the course!
We got a bundle of objects that had memories behind them which we had to create some designs in relation to their meaning and impact on our lives.

We were meant to photo our feelings towards an object so here is my expression of excitement the day me and my friend got to sit in a replica of the DeLorean from Back to the Future at London Comic Con

This is a design for wrapping paper i made from the meanings behind a purple cat hat i made

One of our objects we had to draw with our eyes closed and LOOK! LOOK HOW WELL THAT CAME OUT! I'm actually really happy how that one came out. The picture was drawn by a friend for during our French class and she gave me the task to try and translate what it was saying....still haven't been able to work it out.

My best friend gave me a birthday present wrapped up in layered little origami petal like boxes. So i drew her inside the little box with light shining from it like she's an angel of some sort to highlight how special she is to me.

I also filmed a video for an object we had to describe or advertise about a memory of some sort. This memory in particular actually happened the day we filmed it. I could have used a different object but I thought this memory was particularly funny and brought me together with some of my new friends.

By the end of the day we had put our big bundle of objects and designs in bags and lay them out on the floor to check out each others. All in all it was a great way to look back on the importance of these memories and how they make us who we are as well as look in to each others and get to know each other that way.

I think I got on well with the tasks. They were easy to do yet fun to come up with the creative ideas that sparked from memories of our own experiences.
I found it was successful in creating visual 2d products out of physical 3d objects.
Feedback from friends was mainly in reference to filming the video. Advice of just being myself made it less embarrassing when presenting my work.
I've learnt that even using personal objects you wouldn't think of using for a publicly presented design can still be helpful in creating something.
I think I'll use this same process in brainstorming ideas for future work.
I found these collection of images as the end product were successful in representing my memories as well as myself.
I wasn't too happy with one image I had to quickly scribble out as it wasn't as good as it could've been due to time constraints.
I didn't really find anything difficult, as I mostly knew how to take action in to my own hands.
I feel I would have had better time management with rolling with the first idea that comes to kind and letting what happens with it happen.
I found that writing all the memories behind the objects at first was a good way of planning what I was likely to do with them, therefore this could work with other projects.
Planning and time management I find can help me do the best I can, quickly and efficiently.
